Having grown up in central Illinois farm country, I have always enjoyed painting rural, mid-western landscapes. Since moving to Denver, I find myself hiking in the mountains, camera in hand, finding new and interesting mountain landscapes to paint. I am inspired by the light, color and form I find around me in the mountain west.

Pictured here are some of the golf courses I have painted over the last couple of years for various reasons: for people who have shot a hole-in-one on a particular hole, for a book about an old and prestigious country club or just courses that I have played and was blown away by the beauty I found there. In addition to offering Original Watercolors and Limited Edition Prints of my favorite holes, I also accept commissions to paint golf course portraits for individuals, golf clubs or corporations.

I've recently been inspired to explore abstract subject matter in my paintings. I've started experimenting with distorting the shapes and forms I see in everyday life, using different color combinations to create interesting compositions. I'm finding that it's very liberating and a total departure from the realistic subject matter that I've painted most of my life. I'm also finding many unplanned "happy accidents" - things that show up in the paintings that weren't planned.
